New captain america blood shield11/23/2023 ![]() In the Infinity Gauntlet comic book storyline, Thanos shattered the shield with one punch while in possession of the gauntlet. Thanos holds the distinction of being the only one to destroy the shield in both the comics and the MCU. He later used his powers to reassemble all of the items. Not only that, but in a tremendous show of power, he did it while simultaneously disintegrating Thor's hammer, Silver Surfer's surfboard, and Iron Man's suit. The uber-powerful villain Molecule Man, who has the ability to manipulate the molecules of anything, also destroyed Cap's shield. With this new power, Doom was able to obliterate Cap and his shield, but the Beyonder soon brought Cap and his shield back to life. In the iconic 1980s storyline Secret Wars, Doom acquired the powers of the Beyonder, one of the most powerful beings in the universe. One of the first to break Cap's shield was the supervillain Doctor Doom. You can blame that on adamantium being a poor substitute in a failed recreation of the original proto-adamantium. And yet Cap's shield, which is proto-adamantium - a mix of vibranium and some other mysterious alloys - has been scratched by Logan's claws numerous times with nary a mark to show for it. His adamantium claws are said to be able to slice through any substance, including, presumably, vibranium. And yet, Cap's shield has been able to withstand blows from Thor's hammer in both the comics and in the MCU without breaking. The thunder god's weapon Mjölnir is nigh-indestructible itself, being composed of the unearthly and mystical metal uru. Remarkably, Hulk has never even put a dent in Cap's vibranium wonder. And yet, by some miracle, Cap has been able to go toe-to-toe with the Hulk more than once, even taking a direct punch to the shield from the big green guy on several occasions. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is now streaming on Disney+ with new episodes premiering every Friday.Depending on the era and writer, the Incredible Hulk is sometimes depicted as the strongest creature on Earth when he becomes enraged. But will Walker give up the shield willingly? Perhaps this will drive Sam closer to reclaiming Cap’s shield and taking the Captain America mantle for himself as Rogers intended. Walker’s future as Captain America is now unknown after his violent display was recorded on phones for the world to see. Erskine once said to Steve Rogers, for the super soldier serum to work properly, it needed “not a perfect soldier, but a good man.” John Walker may be the perfect soldier, but’s proved in the fourth episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier he’s not the right person to hold the Captain America mantle. Unfortunately, for Walker, his true colors are driven by insecurity, doubt, violence, and an inferiority complex. Hoskins was on point - power does make a person more of themselves. His newly found super-strength and rage is evidence he took the serum and his shocking act of violence will shape the remainder of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier series. His conversation with Hoskins and getting beat by the Dora Milaje who aren’t even juiced up with the Super Soldier serum finally gave him the answers he wanted. “Power just makes a person more of themselves, right?”įor Walker, this was not a hypothetical question at all. Also without hesitation, he replies “Hells yeah,” he says. Walker asks his partner, Hoskins aka Battlestar the same question. The hypothetical question in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’s episode 4 was, “If you had the chance to take the super soldier serum, would you?” When Zemo asked Sam this question, without hesitation, Sam answers, “No.” Followed up by, “Blood isn’t always the solution.” The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’s John Walker and the Super Soldier Serum Image Credit: Marvel Studios The pressure of being Captain America is starting to weigh on him. But Walker’s fall from grace was expected and throughout the episodes he’s appeared in, he seems to show an arrogant, but insecure personality with potential instability and anger. Receiving his proper introduction in the second episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Walker highlighted his genuine intention to live up to Steve Roger’s legacy by being a great Captain America. We see blood drip from the shield just before the scene cuts to the credits. While being on mission in Latvia, he brutally killed a Flag Smasher using Cap’s shield and the entire world saw. With all the red, white and blue he has on, Walker definitely has a lot more red now. John Walker (Wyatt Russell), the new Captain America, has shown his true colors in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’s episode 4. The Super Soldier Serum power makes a person more of themselves - What does it mean for Karli Morgenthau and John Walker?
